From Germany to Latvia
Between Travemünde and Liepāja, the two ferries Stena Livia and Stena Flavia of the Swedish operator Stena Line run daily (except Sundays).
Departure from the Skandinavienkai terminal is in the afternoon or evening depending on the day of the week; the crossing takes around a day.

From Sweden to Latvia
Stena Line sails even more frequently from Nynäshamn, just outside Stockholm, to Latvia. This route's destination is Ventspils, a little further north, also around two and a half hours by car from Riga. With a crossing time of just 8 hours, Nynäshamn - Ventspils is also the shortest route across the Baltic Sea to the Baltics.
The two ferries Stena Baltica and Stena Scandica sail overnight to Ventspils every day, usually departing Nynäshamn around 9.30pm. On some days there are also daytime crossings.

Which ferry routes go to Latvia?+
Stena Line sails to Latvia on two routes: the direct Travemünde - Liepāja service from Germany and the shorter Nynäshamn - Ventspils crossing from Sweden. In Latvia, the ferries arrive in Liepāja and Ventspils, each around two and a half hours by car from Riga. There is no direct ferry to Riga.
How long does the crossing to Latvia take?+
The direct Travemünde - Liepāja ferry takes around 21 hours, so roughly a day with one night on board. From Sweden, Nynäshamn - Ventspils crosses the Baltic Sea in just over 9 hours, usually overnight. Exact times for your date are in the timetable.
Can I take a car or motorhome?+
Yes. Both Latvia ferries carry vehicles, from cars to motorhomes. The vehicle price depends on length and height, so you enter the dimensions when booking. Can my dog come on board?+

Ferries to Latvia run year-round. In the high season from June to August, popular dates, cabins and vehicle spaces are often booked out weeks in advance, so it pays to book early.
