latviaferries.com is an independent comparison and booking site for the ferry crossings to Latvia. The two routes covered are the direct connection from Travemünde to Liepāja and the crossing from Nynäshamn in Sweden to Ventspils. Both routes are operated by Stena Line, the Swedish ferry company.

No ferry sails to Riga. Liepāja and Ventspils are the only Latvian ports with a passenger service, and each leaves you around two and a half hours by road from the capital, which already says who the crossing is for: people bringing a vehicle, not people looking for a way into the city. Travemünde to Liepāja runs one sailing a day in each direction, overnight, with cabins and reclining seats rather than deck space. What remains to be settled is the approach. Travemünde keeps you at sea the whole way; Nynäshamn wants the drive through Denmark and Sweden first and then asks only for a short night on the Baltic. We set the two out with timetable, duration, vehicle rules and the road distance still waiting at the other end.
